Food production

After the partition of India, the food department was abolished. Later, there was a famine in East Pakistan. In order to deal with this misfortune, Hedge Barnell reinstated the activities of the Food Department as Director General in 1956 and succeeded in decay with determination. The Food Department has taken steps to deal with the problems of emergency, flood, scarcity. 16th October is observed as World Food Day. My office located near the Buriganga's Keraniganj Upazila is situated on the second floor in a beautiful environment with two rooms.


Various types of vegetables are produced here by the local people to meet their daily needs. After finishing their daily needs, they are sold in small quantities in the local market. Vegetable is one of the major crops grown in Shuvadhya union. Here, other paddy is grown on a short scale.
